A full transformation isn't the only way to give your space more personality. There's plenty you can do yourself before you're ready to bring in a designer, and it's smart to start there.
A few places to begin: pick one wall and commit to a single strong colour instead of spreading a few colours thin. Add one piece that has a story behind it, even a print or object means more than generic decor. And pay attention to what customers already comment on, because that's usually a clue worth building around.
